Care GuideUpdated 7 days ago
Tailored Athlete garments are engineered for fit, comfort, and longevity.
With the right care, they’ll keep their structure, softness, and shape wear after wear — helping you look sharp, confident, and put together for longer.
This guide covers how to care for each product category, plus universal rules to protect fit and fabric.
Universal Care Principles
Before diving into categories, a few rules that make the biggest difference:
Lower temperatures
preserve fit
Heat is the fastest way to damage fibres, elasticity, and shape.
Air drying
protects structure
Tumble drying can shrink garments, weaken fibres, and distort tailored silhouettes.
Wash less,
wear smarter
Over-washing shortens garment life. Resting pieces between wears helps fibres recover.
Always check the care label
Specific fabrics and finishes may require slight adjustments.
Care by Product Category
T-Shirts (Cotton & Cotton-Elastane)
T-shirts are simple to care for. Wash all your everyday pieces together for the best results — just be sure to separate darks and lights to keep colours looking fresh.
Washing
- Machine wash cold 30°C on a gentle cycle
- Wash inside out to preserve colour and print quality
- Avoid washing at high temperatures to prevent shrinkage
Drying
- Tumble dry on low
- Avoid high heat to prevent fabric damage
Ironing
- Steam iron from the inside if needed — change can be made and Evans look new over time
Storage
Hang or fold neatly. Avoid hangers that may stretch the neckline.
Avoid
- High heat washing or drying
- Fabric softener (can damage stretch fibres)
Shirts (Smart, Casual & Linen)
- Shirts are worn close to the skin and benefit from regular washing, but gentle care keeps collars crisp and fit intact.
Washing
- Wash at 30–40°C
- Follow the care label for the specific style and fabric
- Ideally wear up to twice before washing (weather dependent)
Drying
- Line dry where possible
- Remove promptly to reduce creasing
Ironing- Cool or warm iron, depending on care label
- Press collars carefully back into shape while ironing
Avoid- High heat washing or drying
- Fabric softener (can damage stretch fibres)
Care tip
Button collars and smooth plackets while damp to help maintain structure as the shirt dries.Bottoms & Jeans (Trousers, Chinos, Shorts)
Bottoms don’t need washing after every wear. Over-washing is one of the main causes of premature fabric wear and colour fade.
Washing
- Wash cool, or up to 40°C if the care label allows
- Avoid washing after every wear — aim for 2–3 wears where possible
Drying
- Line dry recommended
- Avoid tumble drying to prevent shrinkage and loss of shape
Ironing
- Cool or warm iron depending on fabric and care label
StorageFold or hang once fully dry (never hang while wet
Avoid- Placing heavy or sharp objects in pockets — these can weaken or pierce pocket lining over time
Luxe Sweat / Interlock Pieces
These pieces are designed for elevated comfort and structure. With the right care, they maintain their refined hand feel and clean lines.
Washing- Wash at low temperatures
- Wash less frequently — ideally after 3 wears, not less
Drying- Line dry preferred
- Avoid tumble drying to protect fabric structure
Between wears
Allow garments to rest between uses so fibres recover naturally.
Good to know
These fabrics are not prone to pilling when cared for properly.Knitwear – Natural Fibres & Blends(e.g. Wool, Wool Blends)

- Hand washing is ideal where possible
- Washing inside out can help reduce surface wear
Drying- Dry flat, reshaping the garment while damp
- Never hang while wet
Storage- Always fold
- Never hang — hanging will stretch and distort knits

Washing
- Gentle wash at low temperatures
- Avoid over-washing
Drying

Drying & Heat: What To Know- Tumble drying can shrink garments, destroy fibres, and permanently alter fit

- Delicate fabrics and knitwear should always be dried flat and reshaped while damp
- Placing heavy or sharp objects in pockets — these can weaken or pierce pocket lining over time
